Inside DeepSeek Harness, with dsh-market
dsh plugin --profile web add dshmarket
Or from the command line
dsh plugin --profile web add github:ZZJQ678/dsh-model-picker
Installing runs third-party code with your own permissions — it can read your files, use your credentials and reach the network. Review the source first, and pin a commit (github:owner/repo#sha) when you can.
README
A collapsible, provider-grouped model picker for DSH.
Scope: tested only on DSH Desktop (whose profile is named
web). The web build of DSH has not been tested and is not guaranteed to work.Origin: this plugin — code, tests and docs — was written entirely by DSH's
deepseek-4.1-flashmodel.
It replaces the native model picker at the bottom-right of the chat input with a list grouped by provider: collapsible per group, searchable, and carrying each model's own reasoning-effort options as declared in settings.
Features
- Grouped by provider, with the model count on each group header
- Collapsible: only the group holding the current model starts expanded
- Merges mirror providers:
(modlens vision)style vision-bridge mirrors are folded back into their upstream provider, so no provider is listed twice - Two vision badges, both inherited from settings:
- "Vision" — the model declares image input in settings
- "Vision bridge" — the model declares no vision, but a bridge covers it
- Mutually exclusive; neither is shown when settings declare nothing
- Search over provider name/ID and model name/ID, auto-expanding matches
- Per-model reasoning effort, inherited from settings; switching models carries that model's default effort
- Failures are visible: when the provider catalog cannot be loaded, the reason is shown with a retry button
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add "github:ZZJQ678/dsh-model-picker"
Then restart DSH Desktop (or use "Restart Harness" in the app). The patch layer hot-reloads, but the bundle list is fixed at startup — adding a bundle only enters the front-end boot graph after a restart; pressing F5 is not enough.
The desktop profile is named web (not desktop); its directory is
%APPDATA%\dsh-desktop\harness\profiles\web.
Uninstall
dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-model-picker
The native model picker returns automatically.
Design notes
- View only, never data: the catalog, selection and reasoning effort all
reuse the official
ctx.modelDirectoriesservice, so this plugin shares one session-level catalog with the native picker and modifies no provider plugin. - Never disabled while loading: only the
lockedstate disables the trigger, matching the native picker. - Throws instead of rendering a dead shell: registered at
priority: -1over the native entry, so a failure abdicates the slot and the native picker takes over. - Official component library (
@deepseek-ai/dsh-client-ui-primitives) and DSH CSS variables, so it follows light/dark themes.
See README.md (Chinese) for the full engineering notes, including the real-browser pitfalls that shaped this implementation.
