An enhanced fork of dsh-clean-desktop-shell: on top of "wrap your web profile in a native window", it fills in the backend lifecycle management a desktop app should have.
Enhancements over upstream
- Auto-start the backend on launch — no more clicking "start backend" manually; the local
dsh webbackend is started automatically. - No browser window — the backend is started with
--no-open, so only the native window appears, never a browser tab. - Ask before closing the backend on quit — the tray "quit" shows "close backend and quit / quit only / cancel".
- Backend starts in parallel with Electron — the backend is kicked off during Electron init, so cold start is faster.
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-clean-desktop-shell-pro
Then restart dsh web. It reuses your existing web profile and the Electron runtime ($DSH_HOME/desktop-shell-runtime).
If you already have the upstream
dsh-clean-desktop-shellinstalled, remove it first to avoid two desktop shells starting at once:dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-clean-desktop-shell
Desktop shortcut
After the first launch, use the tray right-click menu → "create desktop shortcut", or the first-run prompt.
